When To Compromise

As Christians, we're taught numerous principles that help us to be reasonably compromising. To compromise is to help with the enhancement of peace, love and compassion, but when is compromising too much? Today is Halloween, the day where witches, warlocks, demons, satan and all forces of darkness rejoice. It's a highly celebrated day within the antiChrist communities. The root things associated with Halloween are in opposition to God. So my question to you is this, "Why would a "Christian" partake in such a festivity? I've asked several Christians who celebrate Halloween, why they celebrate this day and their answer to me has been one of the 2. 1: "Oh, the kids love it so we just do it for them. They won't understand if we tell them why they can't go trick-or-treating." 2: "It's not a big deal. Everyone's doing it." I asked them if they know this holiday is the devil's day and they say, "Oh come on, you're taking this too serious." So they allow the children to celebrate because they say they won't understand or they just don't think it's a big deal. Doesn't the Bible say, "Train up a child in the way in which he shall go and when he is old he will not depart from it? (Proverbs 22:6) So why wouldn't a parent, being the parent, the one in control, not explain to their child why they can't celebrate Halloween? Is the parent not the parent? Does the parent not know the Bible? Are they disregarding the Bible? Are they "on the fence" Christians? Are they lukewarm Christians? Gosh, I hope none of the above because the Lord said He'd rather us be cold or hot, but not lukewarm. He said if we are lukewarm, He'll vomit us out of His mouth. (Revelation 3:15-16 paraphrased) So beloved, he who knows better must do better. I used to go trick-or-treating when I was young, however, that was before I knew better! May God have mercy on us. What a blessing to not just know something, but to be able to do that which we know. What a blessing to be obedient to the Lord. Blessings and love. ~ SophieBella3
